Tamara’s charitable side is just as passionate as her creative side. She’s been giving as long as she’s been telling stories through her photography. Over the years, Tamara has supported various missions to help people and organizations in need. In order to elevate her efforts and highlight important matters, she will be creating her own charitable organization which will allow her to make the biggest impact possible. The Bahry Foundation focuses on charity through art with a commitment to give back to causes close to Tamara’s heart.
Through the Bahry Foundation, Tamara contributes to issues involving women and children, animals, the arts and her favourite communities. Through her fine art photography collections, Tamara donates proceeds from the sales of her work to underlying charities. By focusing her photographic lens on all aspects of the human experience, she also awards an annual educational scholarship to a deserving student in Ontario for aspiring photographers to continue their journey in making their dreams a potential reality.
Tamara has served on many boards and committees and supports The Covenant House, Boost Butterfly Ball, Boost Child & Youth Advocacy Centre, Baycrest Hospital, TIFF Gala, Partners in Art, National Ballet of Canada, WWF, Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, and Merry Go Round Children’s Foundation, HART ( Human Anti Trafficking Team ) and most recently Rethink Breast Cancer
Additionally, she is the co-founder of HART (Human Anti-Trafficking Response Team) and Commission Yourself, a movement to end sex trafficking, and the Muskoka Lakes Bracelets, a fundraising platform to aid Victim Services Muskoka and surrounding residents from the devastating floods in early 2019.
